Abstract: A simple and effective method of synthesis of mono- and oligonucleotide sterol derivatives via hydroxysterol H-phosphonates is examplified by attaching cholesterol and testosterone to the 5'-end of properly protected ribonucleosides or immobilized decanucleotides of deoxyribo-and ribo-series and their 2'-O-methyl-analogues.
